I just received the following message from one of my state historical society contacts, in case anyone is interested in checking it out. -- Chris Storey
Dear Students of Idaho History:
The internet is offering another opportunity to “sit at home and research the world!” The journal of the Idaho State Historical Society, Idaho Yesterdays, is now available on-line. See the memo below from a member of the Idaho State Historical Society.
Greetings!
In the past, if you wanted to find an article that had been published in Idaho Yesterdays, you either had to have a Public Archives and Research Library (PARL)team member of the Idaho State Historical Society look it up for you or come to PARL to either browse the magazine or search the American History & Life database. But we have discovered you can search Idaho Yesterdays on HeritageQuest and get the bibliographic citations from your desktop.
In 2009 the Idaho Commission for Libraries added HeritageQuest to the databases available via LiLi so all Idaho residents have access. If you go to http://www.lili.org you can locate HeritageQuest in the list of databases. LiLi does require registration but it is free so sign up today and give it a try. When searching HeritageQuest for Idaho Yesterdays you will need to choose the PERSI link (not to be confused with Idaho’s PERSI retirement). You can then either look for just Idaho Yesterdays or do a keyword search of all the publications indexed in the database. Idaho Yesterdays does have some gaps in indexing but it covers most of 1957 through Summer 2007.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of assistance.
